Default Oven stopped working on Thanksgiving!
Brand: Kenmore
Model Number: 911.93571790
Age: More than 10 years

Of course this has to happen on Thanksgiving!!!! argh

Anyway, I woke up this morning to a blank display on the oven clock. The stove still works but no oven or clock. First off and most importantly does anyone have a good recipe for microwaved turkey?

So what could be wrong with my oven? I'm a pretty handy person so I'm hoping that with your help I can diagnose and fix this myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Have you tried resetting the clock?

Is the clock displaying any codes?

Open the control panel and check the wiring to the control.

Here is a link to the parts of your range model 911.93571790.

thanks for the help! The wires all look fine. There nothing burnt and the circuit board appears normal. Is there anything else to check? I have a multi-meter if that helps.

Check the voltage going in to the control.

If there is power to the control but no response you will have to replace the control.

I received the part today from partselect.com The only problem is that it isn't precisely the same control panel. The new control panel wire connections are all marked pretty well, yellow for bake, purple for broil, the 5 pin connector is a no-brainer. The problem is I have 2 wires remaining, a white and a black. (I presume that is main power) On the new unit there is only one more connector marked 'N', that's netural or white is my guess? Where does the black wire go?

There are two black boxes on the control, one is for bake and the other for broil. There are two "extra" wire connectors on each of those. Does the black go to one of those?
