Question Oven stopped working
Brand: Tappan
Model Number: 30-4989-00-04
Age: More than 10 years

Oven on my Tappan gas range quit working. Pressing Bake Temp control does not respond. No red light comes on. Oven failed in the middle of the bake cycle. Can anyone tell me what's up with this?

Is the time still displayed?

Here is a link to your range model 30-4989-00-04.

Hello Sheila, The answer to your questions are, the outlet works and the clock works. What do I do next?

Check to see if the igniter is glowing if it is give it a tape.

If the oven lights your igniter is weak and not opening the valve to allow the gas in.

The igniter will have to be replaced.

Default Tappan Oven Not Working

Hello Shiela, Thank you for your reply. I have ordered an oven igniter part number PS470129. Order number1289471. When I receive it I will install and see if that makes the oven work again.
