Default Oven stopped heating
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GE mongram wall oven
Age: 1 - 4 years

My wall electric range oven will not heat in either convection nor bake mode. It will however heat in Broil mode. Bottom oven works fine. I am trying to identify the specific issue and diagram to fix the problem.

My model # ZET857SB1SS is the model number indicated on my unit but I only see ZET857SB2SS as valid model on this site - no sure if any difference

Check your bake element.

It should have between 19 and 23 ohms resistance.

For the element the zet857sb2ss will get you the right part.

For this particular unit is it necessary to pull the entire unit from the cabinent to gain access to the back of the unit to release the bake element. I was able to pull the ring unit easily but the bake element seems pretty difficult to pull and test. Can you provide any guidence? Can the element be tested in place while still connected?

Additionally, does the ring element drive the convection heat? The convection oven is also not working as well as the bake.

Thanks

There should be two screws holding the element in place on the inside of the oven.
