Default Oven Smoking
Brand: Frigidaire
Age: 1 - 4 years

my wife was cooking something in the gas oven and on the left front burner when she noticed alot of smoke coming from just behind the back right burner and the way it was coming out i thought it was something electric because it was just to the right of the clock. i shut off the gas and pulled the burner covers off and the cook top cover off. i then noticed underneath the back right burner which never gets used ( no grease or anything back there) there was a white (heat blanket?.) which was burnt and there was a copper wire (holds the blanket in place?.) that was black as well. the good news is that i found where the smoke was coming from but i don't know why, any ideas as to why or what to check?

Here is a breakdown of your range model Fgfl67dbd.

I don't see anything that resembles what you have described.

See if you can determine what it is.

I am not sure why the insulation would have caught fire if there was nothing on it.

The copper wire would only be there to hold the insulation in place.

Maybe you should check and make sure the pilot on that side is working properly.
