Question Oven Problems
Brand: Magic Chef
Model Number: 3510KRW
Age: More than 10 years

Hi folks, recently I had an oven selector switch burned out. It was very obvious because of the burned condition of it. I replaced the switch but still have a problem. When I turn the switch to either bake or broil, the designated unit becomes red and is not affected by the thermostat being on or off. Therefore, I have no control over the temperature. The thermostat doesn't appear to be burned like the control switch, all wires are intact, and I can hear an audible click when turning the thermostat knob (sounds normal to me).
The surface burners work fine. Do I need a thermostat?............Al

It sound like the contacts in the oven control have arced together.

You would see no evidence of this.

When replacing the over thermostat be very careful not to break the capillary tub as this will ruin your control.

The thermostat is number 6 on the parts breakdown.

Here is a link to your range model 3510KRW.
