Default Oven not working
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: mer5755qaw
Age: 1 - 4 years

I have a Magtag Glass top stove and oven. The Bake element burned out and I have replaced it. But the oven still does not work. I think that I have a problem with the main relay panel. Problem is I do not know what series I have. Is there a way that I can tell? I bought it on close out a few years ago and the Model number was written on a piece of tape on the back(great) but It matches what I have seen on line. So one how do I know what series I have and 2 could there be something that I am missing.
Thanks

When I turn on the oven I hear the relay "click" then in a few minutes it "clicks" again but the oven never gets hot. could it be a bad thermal sensor unit? when the burner goes out do they tend to take out other parts also? Before the element went bad the oven would not hold a steady temp. but I thought that it was just the element.

Your series # is the first two numbers on your serial #. It sounds to me like it is the control board. Does the control flash any codes. I can be reached at my website at ApplianceEducator.com

Thanks for the response. The problem that i have is that there is no sticker that tells me what the serial number of the unit is. I have all the electrical stickers (shock hazard Etc) but nothing that gives the voltage or HZ or Serial number. Is there another way to tell? when I look for parts it gives the same part number for the different series control boards... are they the same?
thanks again

If they give you the same part # for each of the series, then yes, they are the same part. Tom ApplianceEducator.com.
