I have a IMPERIAL (age 20 to 25 years) oven which is not working. When you turn knob the pilot light flame gets longer, but the main burner does not light. Tried lighting with lighter, but still does light. Apparently no gas is reaching burner. What could be the problem.

Unfortunately with gas appliances I cannot give advice due to safety concerns.
