Default The oven is "locked" open
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: gallery
Age: 1 - 4 years

The lock feature of the oven has engaged and the door will not close completely, and the oven will not go on, because the door doesn't close. How do I "clear" this option. I have tried "cancel", and I have unplugged to whole range. all to no avail.

Help!

Thanks,

Stephanie in Oregon

Can you please supply your model number?

The only thing that can be done is to fix the door latch assemble.

It is FEF389CFSK

The panel says "locked" and "cancel" or "playing" with the cleaning function doesn't work, nor does unplugging the range. Do you think it is the locking mechanism, or the computer chip/program/controls?

Thanks for your feed back,

Stephanie

It is likely the door lock that is causing your problem.

Unplug the range.

Disconnect the lock from the circuit.

Plug the range back in.

If the problem is gone replace the door lock.

Here is a link to your range model FEF389CFSK.
