Default Oven light keeps blinking-unable to turn off
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: unknown
Age: 5 - 10 years

I used the oven tonight to bake spareribs. When I went to turn off after broiling, the oven light not only stayed lit, but keeps blinking. The oven seems to be either off or on "warm". It is not hot. I don't know what to do. I tried turning the power off, but when it came back on, the blinking continued. I tried setting it on "auto clean" but as soon as I unlocked the oven, the blinking continued.

I can't shut the circuit off because the water heater is on the same panel, and I would not have hot water if I did that.

But it is scaring me. Does anyone have a clue what is wrong with this stove? I don't have a manual, and don't know the model number, so can't access a .pdf version on GE's Website.

The model number for the range should be on a tag on the frame where the drawer closes.

If the oven is staying warm there is a problem with the control if the oven is cold but the light is blinking the light may be faulty.

If the range is plugged in to the wall unplug it.
