Default Oven Glass Door Replacement
Brand: Amana
Model Number: AGR5735QDQ
Age: More than 10 years

I was replacing metal parts on my oven door and managed to shatter the front bisque-colored glass panel. I bought a new one, 6 strips of double-sided foam tape, and 2 strips of single-sided foam tape. These quantities I guessed from the exploded diagram and examination of my oven door. The positioning of the double-sided strips is obvious from their residue left on the bisque side panels. But where in heck are the single-sided tape strips supposed to go? You can't tell from the exploded diagram, and I cannot see any remains of these strips on my original oven door parts. It is possible that they were stuck to the glass pane itself, in which case I vacuumed them up along with the glass fragments.

Amana model AGR5735QDQ 3 yrs.

The single sided tape goes on the glass along the top edge.

Look at the door breakdown on the link below.

Here is a link to your range model AGR5735QDQ.

Thank you for this reply. That's the confusing exploded diagram I was looking at. The tape in question is labelled with the #14.

In the first place, I'm pretty sure there are at least 2 of these that should be placed on the glass somewhere, yet there is only one shown in the diagram. If you stick it to the back side of the glass where it appears to be shown in this diagram, it will not contact or slide over anything either going in or when finally in place. If it's supposed to go on the back of the glass and cusion it from the handle bracket, then sticking it on farther to the right (under the handle attachment point) would work.

Yes there is one on each side and you do place them so they cushion the glass.
