Question Oven fan won't stop and temp wrong
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: ww30430p
Age: Please select

I have a Jenn-air wall mount electric double oven. After self cleaning both ovens, the cooling fan has stayed on for days and won't turn off. Also when you turn on the top oven, the pre-heat temp starts at over 400 degrees when the oven is cold. This causes it not to be able to heat up. The bottom oven seems to work ok. Please offer any advice

Thanks, Sean

You may have a stuck fan relay.

You will have to check the cooling fan circuit.

Here is a link to your wall oven model ww30430p.

Thank you Sheila for your reply. Could you give some instructions as to how to check the fan relay circuit? Would this mean replacing the entire relay board? Also it seems there are 2 relay boards if you could identify which one would be involved. Thanks in advance. Sean

The relay board that you want to look at is located behind the control panel and attached to the side.

You will have to use your wiring diagram to test the circuit.

It should say on the board which relay it for the fan.

It may be that the switch for the lock motor is stuck in the closed position causing the fan to run and the temperature to show a 400 degrees.

Issue is resolved. Here is what I ending up doing. I tested the fan relay to the best of my ability and could not find anything wrong. Based on other postings on this forum, I decided to check the oven temperature sensors (double oven). One of them had an OHM reading of over 1800 leading me to believe that the self cleaning cycle I had recently run had pushed that sensor over the edge. I ordered a replacement sensor and the oven heats normally and the fan is working normally again also. What I believe was happening is the fan was sensing a high heat from the bad temperature sensor and staying on. When the sensor was replaced, the fan returned to normal operation. If I have other issues, I will post again. I hope this helps someone else avoid an expensive repair call.
