Default Oven element wont light
Brand: Magic Chef
Model Number: 6498vtv
Age: Please select

I am not sure what part I should be looking for could you help? My cook top works fine, so does my broiler. The broiler glow's then fire's up the burner. But the oven never glows or fires up yet it will heat up very slowly and I never really see the burner kick on. We also smell gas. I read somewhere on here that there are 2 ignitors (one for the oven one for the broiler) also there is also a seperate element and saftey valve that requires pressure to open it. I dont know if I need an element, an ignitor, or a regulator.
Please advise.

Thanks Tom

It sound like the igniter is what you may need.

But if you are smell gas you should have your range checked by a qualified gas technician.

Here is a link to your range model 6498vtv.
