Default Oven Door Won't Completely Close
Brand: Inglis
Model Number: Convection, Self Clean
Age: 5 - 10 years

Forum, THe oven door slipped out of my hand when I opened it and went down
one foot. I think this may have bent the hinge as the over door closes but there
is a 3/4 inch space at the top of the door. Puzzled as to whether I have to
replace the hinges and how do I get at these hinges and springs?
Is this a professional job or can I do it myself?

Default Oven Door Fixed

Sheila, Thanks for your reply. I split the door and found one of the springs
broken. I looked up the model # and ordered a new spring which arrived in one
day. I reinstalled the spring and door.
Thanks to your site I looked up a similar problem and found out how to
remove the oven door from the stove. You simply open the door to the first
stop and pull it out of the stove. Thanks for saving me $150 by not calling
a service repair man.
