I used the self cleaning mechanism on the stove and upon completion(while hot) I tried to move the latch back to the left and it got stuck. Once cooled off I again tried to slide the latch to the left and it went all the back to its original position and when I tried to open the door, it would not release.

Can you please supply the model number to your range?

The model number should be on a tag on the frame of the range where the drawer closes.
