Default Oven Door Lock
Brand: Frigidaire
Model Number: CFEF372C
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hello,

I have a Frigidaire self cleaning range the door locked and will not open. Our smoke detector when off and my daughter did not know the oven was cleaning she thought there was something burning inside, so she turn off the oven in the middle of the cleaning cycle.

She restarted the cleaning cycle and it completed the cleaning but the door will not open. I have unplugged it, press clean start and listen for the door locking sound and stop the clean cycle but the door still will not open. The dr sign was flashing in the display then F9, and then it started to beep. I unplugged it and the F9 went away as did the beeping, the door is still locked but my burners work.

Please help,

Thank you

Here is what you need to do. Pull the oven out from the wall, and unplug it. Then I want you to start taking the back off of the oven. When you get the back off, the piece that you will be looking for will have a small motor, around 3 inches in diameter, and there will be a small switch attached to the braket that has a few wires coming to it, and then you will see a small round disk on the same braket, about the size of a quarter, it might even be white or cream in color, with a metel rod attached to it. Grab the small disc, the size of a quarter, and turn it, it will release the door catch. You can do it. If you need me I can be reached at T. PAONE's APPLIANCE SALES & SERVICE GUIDE. I will check my mail in the morning. Tom
