Default Oven door doesn't close properly
Brand: Other
Model Number: Thermador PRG304US
Age: 1 - 4 years

The door on my oven doesn't close properly. At the top edge the door doesn't make contact with the door seal. Is there a way to adjust the door hinges to correct this?

Your door hinge may be worn out and need replacing. Open the door and see if you can see if the guide wheel is worn out.

Guide wheel is fine. This range is less than four years old. I suspect that my poorly closing door was always like that but I just didn't notice it until now.

Open the door and look to see if the front panel (which is where the hinge counter support is mounted to) is bowed out. If so, there is a fix Thermador has for this. I believe it requires the door being removed, the side panels being removed, the bowed portion of the front panel being pushed back in and a screw being punched into the side of the front panel into the liner. This then keeps the front panel in place.

If you do this, make sure that you're holding the door all the way when opening it. I believe this problem is caused when the customer lets the door fall the last part of the way when opening it.

Good Luck...

New hinges should help.
