 Oven & Clock peetered out! Thermostat?Clock? Brand: Whirlpool Model Number: wge83301 Age: 5 - 10 years
My whirlpool range (model #wge83301 about 5 years old) oven & clock have been simultaneously and occasionally been cutting out. I would wiggle the oven dial turning it on-off-on-off quickly and it would be ok until the next time. Now that no longer helps and it has stopped completely.
We opened it up, all wiring seems in good condition. We thought at first that it was the thermostat, since we could get it to work again by doing the on-off-on-off thing with the dial. But as I'm researching here, it seems more likely that it is the electronic display panel/clock?
The smooth-top burners, outlets and lights still work fine. Can't afford a repair person to come in, and feel able to handle replacing either the thermostat or display panel/clock on my own....just not sure which one needs help. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
