Default Oven Clicking & Door Locking
Brand: Tappan
Model Number: 31-559218
Age: More than 10 years

Have an electric flat-top Tappan, was bought in '93. Used it this morning.. the burners work fine & still do. Had been walking by the kitchen & heard a loud clicking noise comming from the oven. It will not heat up for bake or broil & occaionaly the door locks for a few minutes & then releases. The noise will not stop so we had just unplugged the stove. Tried putting the self-cleaner on & it does nothing either, just locks for a few minutes.

Default

It sound like the clock/control is faulty causing the door look to be energized and then unenergized.

Can you please check your model as there should be two more numbers at the end?
