 Oven and broiler won't heat Brand: KitchenAid Model Number: KGST307BW Age: More than 10 years
Last year my oven would not heat up so after some research, we decided to replace the oven igniter and were advised to go ahead and replace the broiler igniter as well, which indeed did fail soon after. After replacing the oven igniter, the oven now heats up and cooks fine, but when replacing the broiler igniter, the original part seemed to have a longer ceramic piece than the replacement part and we think perhaps it protects the wiring. Now although the oven works fine, I don't feel comfortable using the broiler function until we get a similar broiler igniter with the longer ceramic piece. In viewing the parts view on this website, the oven igniter and broiler igniter appear the same except for the connections at the end of the wiring. Can anyone give me any advice on this issue? |
