Default Oven bake temperature is way wrong
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: W131B
Age: More than 10 years

If set to Bake at 375, the bake element glows and the oven very quickly (1-2 minutes) signals it has reached 375. It is actually much cooler. If set to max, the oven gets a bit warmer, but does not anywhere near normal temp. Broil seems to work normally.

I replaced the thermostat but that didn't help.

Can the bake element be partially defective such that it still gets a little hot? Or is this an issue with the Clock/controller? Is there anything else it could be?

Thanks in advance.

It would be the clock control that is faulty.

Here is a link to your oven model W131B.

Thanks. I replaced the clock today and we made brownies tonight. The oven's working again.
