Default Oven Bake temperature resets and display shows OFF.
Brand: Tappan
Model Number: 12-4980 10-1
Age: 5 - 10 years

After setting baking temperature, the oven temperature increases to that temperature, but resets and displays either "----" or the word OFF after about an hour.

Cannot set in a new bake temperature until oven cools.

NO "F code" is displayed, only the dashes (----) or the word OFF.

It sounds like the control board (clock) is malfunctioning.

Can you please verify your model number?

The first part of it is fine 12-4980 but the last part is in question.

Sheila,

The part number off the metal tag shows:

The serial number is DF0330021-4 1990

That is all I have.

Thanks
