Red face Outer ring haliant burner not working
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: JBP67B
Age: 1 - 4 years

I have a GE (JBP67B) smooth top range/oven. The outer ring of the large haliant burner is not working. Only the small (inner) size works. Any thoughts are what to replace -- the haliant element, the switch infinite and/or rocker switch (that controls the small/large portion of the burner)?

Thanks for any insights on what may usually go with this type of problem.

You will have to check the switch and element with a meter.

That is the only way to determine what has failed.

Here is a link to your range model JBP67B.

I got a new element and replaced it today. A very straight forward job (15 min). Upon visual examination of the element you can see a broken heating wire, thus it wasn't necessary to do a meter test.
