Default Outer glass door replacement - tips?
Brand: Maytag
Model Number: MER5755QAW
Age: 1 - 4 years

Any tips on replacing a Maytag outer glass door to have greatest chance for success without breaking it? It seems a little awkward.....once glass is resting in lower trim piece, how does glass fit under the upper trim piece? Removing the three screws on top of the door does not seem to help. Do I need to remove the side trim pieces also?

Thanks!

You should take the door off the oven to replace the door glass.

The instruction for removing the door should be in your owners manual.

Lay the door on a protected surface.

Remove the screws securing the bottom trim to the oven door.

The trim should slide out.

Place the trim on the new glass and slide up under top trim.

Reinstall the bottom trim.

Here is a link to your range model MER5755QAW.

Sheila, thank you for the information. My owners manual does not give any details on removing the oven door and it is not obvious how to do it. The hinge does not appear to have any place to disconnect from the oven or the door. How do I remove the oven door?

Thank you again for your help!!!

Sorry usually that information is in the manual.

To remove the door open the door and place the door hinge locking device into the lock position.

Place the door in the first position, then grasp both sides and lift up off the hinge receivers.
