Default Old Whirlpool range knobs
Brand: Whirlpool
Age: More than 10 years

I have just purchased new range handles for my Whirlpool counter-top range (with downdraft vent). I now find that the knobs fit at a 90 angle to how the original knobs fit. What can I do?
Jim

Can you please provide your model number?

What is the part number of the knobs that you purchased?

Unhappy Jim Botwick

The part # I ordered/rcvd is 330190 Knob RA. Other numbers on the bag are: Code 07010B, 10515 and the SKU is 050946 01349 7. The problem is that when the know is installed, the vertical part is misaligned by 90 degrees.

I do not know the model# of the cook-top - it is so old (abt 1991) that the numbers are all worn off!!.

Check on your old knob there may be a part number on it.

If you can not find a number I do know of a universal knob kit.

Part Number on old knob is 309540 or 308540 (the retainer clip covers most of the middle 4 numbers, and I'm not sure about the 3rd number - it could be an 8 or a 9. Other markings are: J I and FSP.
Thanks! Jim

Your part number sub to the part number that you received.

Do you still have the manual to your range?

It may have your model number on it.

I did mention a knob kit but it has the number on the skirt and yours don't.

You may be able to take the lock washer off the knob and turn the skirt so it is in the right spot for you.

Tried to rotate the knob first off - no matter what I do, the knob is still off by 90 degrees. Cooktop is in a rental property and manual is gone!

Can you read any of the model number?

Even some it may help.

If you have a Lowe's in your area they have a universal Knob kit.

Here is the knob kit.
