 Not heating properly Brand: Maytag Model Number: 3468xva Age: More than 10 years
I have an 11 year old Maytag natural gas oven with a problem that has been getting progressively worse for about 6 months. When I call for heat the element glows red immediately but the gas valve doesnt open for 8-10 minutes, when it does the burner ignites instantly as it should and burns in a start-up mode for about 15 seconds and then shuts off 15 seconds later it re-ignites and burns as if the oven were at selected temp. to maintain heat, this creates an extended heat-up time sometimes over an hour. I'm sure this is a simple repair, a sensor most likely but my comfort zone is in the garage not the kitchen. Thanks hope someone who reads recognizes this problem and can steer me in the rite direction. |
