I have a General Electric stove. Old model. It is making a loud noise behind the clock. Had to turn the power off because of the noise. The clock works when power is on,just can't stand the noise to leave stove on. Model # JSP27DOD3AD.

Thanks

If this is an old analog clock make sure that the minute timer is in the off position.

Default Range noise

Thanks for helping, but I do know what you are saying. And,yes it is off. This is a noise that sounds like it is comming from the back of clock. Could it need to be oiled?

Thanks

As long as you are absolutely sure the timer is OK at home position and OFF
Some of the timers on old stoves are pretty tricky

Sounds like your buzzer
It could be the contacts for your timer buzzer/alarm are welded together
Unplug the stove
Open up the console
You will see the wires going to the buzzer
Remove one
Tape it up good with electrical tape, put a plastic twist tie or a zip tie over the tape just to be sure the tape cannot unravel and tuck it out of the way
There fixed, we hope, and hopefully you never use the buzzer

Could also replace or try to clean the timer contacts

If it the clock gears that are making the noise a high temperature grease would like work a little better then oil.
