Default Need help replacing clock control module
Brand: Magic Chef
Model Number: 6898vvv
Age: More than 10 years

One of the push buttons on the clock control panel stopped working. To replace it, it looks like I need to remove the cook top so that I can get to the screws. I don't know how the top comes off. Does it simply pop up? I don't want to start prying on it for fear of breaking the top. Thanks

Open the oven door and check along the edge of the control panel.

There should be screw that will release the control panel.

There may also be some on the ends.

I don't have the service manual for the Magic Chef brand.

Here is a link to your range model 6898vvv.
