Need help with infinite switch Brand: Jenn-Air Age: 5 - 10 years I have an old Jenn-air electric cook top. The problem is that I needed to replace the old infinite switches. So I replaced them after I plugged it in to test it, it did not work properly.(i think) When I turn on a switch the burner comes on for about 10 sec. and then goes out. After in cools down for 30-45 sec. it repeats in the same manor. As the burner goes out the switch makes a click noise. When I turn the burner the whole way up it stays on. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions about what to do.
My dad thinks that the burners are suppose to cycle like that and that is how it regulates the heat to the burner and that is why it stays "lit" if you turn it the whole way up. If someone could please tell me what is going on I would appreciate it.
I was also wondering if maybe I got the wrong switch because maybe it's not rated for enough amperage. But this is just a wonder I don't really know what the problem is at all.
Thank you,
