HVAC is my primary field but I have been repairing electric stoves a lot recently. When I replace a burnt block, the element electrodes are burnt too. I use sandpaper, but it takes forever and the result is less than what I would like. I know the best solution is a new element, but the customer has 100+ rental homes and a buddy that sells used appliances and when I tell him we need new elements he gets me a bag of used elements for free and doesn't want to spend money on new ones. I think that mabe a dremel with a sanding drum, or a cordless drill with a grinding disc might work, but I don't know. Can anyone tell me a good way to clean the element electrodes when changing a burnt block? thanks
