Default Mystery of getting a fluorescent light repaired
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: GRCR3960ZSS-3
Age: 5 - 10 years

have a GE stove. The fluorescent light went. I bought a new light, a new starter and it only sputtered on and off and never caught. Got a new ballast for the machine, and it still does not work. Tried another new bulb. Then the new bulb and a new starter, still it only tries to start but does not "catch"

Is there a way to test the terminals where the fluorescent attaches? I would assume if one of the contacts was not there, that end of the bulb would not sputter and attempt to glow, or am I wrong? Anything else I should try?
