Default More than 1 burner comes on
Brand: Roper
Model Number: 2141loe
Age: More than 10 years

I have a Roper electric cooktop. When I turn one burner on the other comes on also. Is there a main junction block that the wires go thru that could be shorting out or is there a problem with the burner switches?

It sounds like one of the wire may have melted to another wire.

Can you please verify your model number?

The model number can be found on the frame of the stove where the drawer closes.

I fixed it. It was one of the switches. From what I could see they were all interconnected by a common wire. One of the burner switches must have shorted sending power to the other burners. It was a cooktop range, no drawer just the cook top.
