Default Melted connector
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: JTP45
Age: 5 - 10 years

Using double oven, top on broil, bottom @ 400, had flash & tripped breaker. When I took off the control panel, the connector from the line is melted. Is this a rare occournace? Did the connector arc from a loose connection or is there other problems. The control panel seems fine. Any suggestions?

It was most likely just a loose connection.

Repair the connection and check the operation.

Here is a link to the parts of your range model JTP45.

For a list of parts for your oven you will need the last four to five digits of your model number.
