Default Lighting problem
Brand: Hotpoint
Model Number: RGB745
Age: 1 - 4 years

The front right burner (highest power) will not consistently light anymore. If I put another burner to "light" setting and then try to light the front right burner, it will light. Everything looks clean. If it lights when another burner is lighting, it means the switch is still working right? What else can I do to diagnose the problem before I call someone in? Can I disassemble the burner to look at things, even though the top does not come up (I think)? Thanks for any input.

Update: now the front right burner will not light at all. Plenty of clicking, but no ignition.

It sounds like the electrode has failed.

Here is a link to your range model RGB745.

Here is the electrode for your range.
