GE Hotpoint trouble converting from Nat to LP gas
Brand: Hotpoint
Model Number: RGB533WEHW
Hi, I too recently bought a new GE Hotpoint range model RGB533WEHW. I had to convert it to LP, all the top burners work perfectly, but I cannot seem to get the oven right.

I have huge flames shooting from the bottom of the pan. The flames on the top of the unit barely lick the sides of the top plate inside the oven.
I can't find the burner orifice hood or the broiler hood mentioned in the literature. There is no picture in paperwork that shows what it looks like. Can some one help me understand what I am looking for to adjust?.

One adjustment I did try was the brass fitting on a tube. It's located inside the stove's upper right hand corner. I adjusted it clockwise and wound up removing it off the tube. I wound it back on until it stopped. I don't know if I did more harm than good. I also adjusted the air shutters. That didn't do anything for reducing the size of the flames.

It is best to have a qualified gas technician install your conversion kit.

Agreed. I did what the directions indicated. And am going to have a tech come out to the house and make the adjustments. Sucks that this is happening during turkey day week. Hopefully will have it fixed/adjusted Friday or Saturday after turkey day.

With All This Said, The Hood Orifice Is The Brass Thing On A Tube. When Tightening This Brass Hood, You Are Restricting The Opening Of The Orifice. It Sounds Like You Tightened The Top One Too Tight And Nothing At All On The Bottom Burner. The Burner Sets Over The Hood Orifice, Where The Air Adjustment Is At. Do Not Overtighten The Orifice You Could Crack It Or The Fitting You Are Tighteniing On.
