 Kenmore range ERC repair Brand: Kenmore Model Number: c970-552521 Age: 1 - 4 years
The range is a 2003 Kenmore (sears canada) range that seems to have a bad oven control unit, the digital readout stays black all the time and none of the buttons work. The separate rotary switches for the elements work fine and I would like to replace the ERC but the unit is discontinued in the US and only Sears Canada carries the part (#318216512) at $133.
Ive checked the voltage at the relay on the back of the unit and it reads a constant 0.5 volts. All the other terminals (broil, bake etc) read 118v. I assume the relay is bad and would like to change it. The relay is $1.98 - a far cry from $133. If that doesnt work is there someplace selling these parts cheaper? Or are there any suggestions as to what else it could be? Otherwise this range will be a retireree. |
