This error code has appeared on our range. The owners manual is useless ("call sears for service")

(I would not call or visit sears if they were giving away appliances for free! [recurring problems with this unit from week one and also consistently bad luck with a refrigerator from them as well])

The F 2 code stands for the oven temperature be too high.

Check the oven control for welded relay contacts on the bake and broil relays.

Check the sensor connections to the control and the connection at the sensor.

The sensor is a rod inside the oven.

At room temperature the sensor should read 1100 ohms.
