Question KA oven door won't fully close
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: KEBS277DWH8
Age: 5 - 10 years

Lower oven door on the KA wall oven won't close fully. When pushed shut it sags open about 1/2" - enough to turn on the oven lights. There are no evident obstructions on the face of the oven itself, and no lumps in the woven metal gasket around the oven front. It feels just like the upper-oven gasket.

I removed both the door hinges (PS375564) and visually they are fine: springs are intact with considerable tension. There are no damaged or bent parts.

Do these springs weaken over time? (Upper door closes fine.) I could go $50-odd to replace them, but I'd like some experience or suggestions to guide me.

Thanks

Mike

If both doors are the same, I would swap doors
This should at least indicate is the problem in the door OR in the oven

Thanks, Denman. That'll be my next move.

Why didn't I think of that?
