My Amana gas range/oven works intermittently. The oven works for 15 to 20 minutes and then the digital touchpad electronic control panel display (with clock) goes blank and the oven goes off. After a period of time the clock display will come back on and then the oven can be reset and work for a brief period again. I want to know what could be the cause of this malfunction, and how do you repair it.
Thanks,

jrbrow

It sounds like there is a loose wiring connection.

As the stove heats it loose the connection.

Default Amana gas range

Is there a site where I can field a schematic for my range? I have a page and pictures of parts with numbers but no legend or corresponding page that goes with the numbers and part name? This is an Amana slide in gas range Model #ACS3350AS Serial # 0111227280. Or is there a repair manual somewhere I can purchase? Thank you for your time.

The schematic for your range should be in the control panel or in an envelope somewhere on the range.

I don't have one in any envelop. Where on the control panel would the schematic be? And what control panal are you talking about? The controls where I push to set the oven on?

The control panel is where your controls are.

Inside is where you will likely find them when you take the control panel down to look inside.

I know this string is old now. But I have the same oven, same problem. It appears to be a design flaw. The control panel overheats and then the display shuts down until the unit is cool again. The schematic is glued to the bottom of the slide out drawer under the oven.

I have been able to use the oven if I aim a fan (regular room fan) directly at the control panel while cooking. I cooked a pie for an hour at 425 last week--first time in a year that I've been able to cook something for more than 15 minutes. I believe there was a class action suit in Florida regarding this oven and similar ovens indicating that the control unit was not sufficiently insulated and overheats. My fear is that if I replace the control panel, we will have the same problem again. Were you able to fix your oven?

A repairman who was here yesterday looked at the schematic and found that there is apparently a fan--but so far he has been unable to locate it in the oven.
