Default Jenn-Air range top
Brand: Other
Model Number: JGS9900BDS
Age: 1 - 4 years

We dropped someting on our Jenn-Air range top. Jenn-Air wants over $600 for a replacement top and doesn't offer any assistance on putting the new one on even if you buy the expensive one. Any place to buy a less expensive replacement? Any info about putting a new one on?? Thanks

I don't know of any other place that you would get the top at a cheaper price.

Here is a link to your range model JGS9900BDS.

To replace the top follow these instructions.

1. Turn off the power and gas supply to the range.

2. Raise the range so that the top is not touching the counter using the leveling legs.

3. Disconnect the downdraft blower motor and flex ducting.

4. Slide the range out far enough to disconnect the gas line and power cord.

5. Pull the range forward out of the cabinet opening.

6. Locate the trim screws and remove them.

7. Gently grasp trim pieces with both hands an pull forward and roll the trim off the retainer clips.

8. Remove the grates and air grill.

9. Remove the perimeter screws securing the main top to the chassis.

10. Label and disconnect wire terminals to the igniter.

11. Gently lift the main top away from the chassis.

After reassembly make sure you do a leak test on the gas connections.
