Default Jenn- Air Double Oven Model WW2780W

F1 started flashing - would stop when I canceled then began again. Finally stopped when I switched off the breaker. Later I tried to turn on the upper convection oven -selected the temperature- the fan went on and the oven began to heat but in 4 seconds it went off. The same thing happened when I trie to use the broil setting. I then tested the lower oven and it functions in both the bake mode and the broil mode. The clock functions and keeps good time. It seems as if a fuse is being blown. Do I need a new control panel or timer electronics? Please send reply by Email- I would like to order the proper part as soon as possible.

Default Same Problem

I am having similar problems with my Jenn-Air double oven. Did you ever figure out what was wrong with yours?

Thanks,

James

Red face Also had timer board replace a year ago...

and that seemed to take care of the problems. But now, a year later, it has happened again.
My symptoms were that one would set the temperature, the display panel would indicate that pre-heating was starting and then it would go blank. This was intermittent, it seem to be weather dependent, hot humid weather made it worse.

This time I took the over apart myself and it looks like I can do the repair. Just ordered the part from partselect.com and will see if that is the case. Otherwise it will require replacing the whole wall unit.

But since I've replaced memory and disk drives in several computers, I think I can handle this bit of circuit board.

Default Timer fixed my JennAir WW2780W

I was able to fix my JennAir WW2780W by installing the timer circuit boards. The installation was very easy.

All the wires that connect to the circuit board have different plugs so you can't make a mistake putting them back.

There are 4 bolts that are easily removed with a nut driver (can't remember the size -- 7 or 8mm I think).

Of course, remember to disconnect the power first!.

Default Jenn-Air

Can you shed any light on how you were able to determine what replacement part was needed? Also - where did you purchase it?

Thanks,

James

Default How I knew...

was based on my interaction with a repair man last August. I had a similar problem with the oven. He diagnosed the problem as either being the timer or another part. He replaced the other part and the oven worked for almost a year. When it failed again, I contacted him and he said, well it must be the timer. Then he called me back and told me the 3 suppliers he contacted said the part was no longer manufactured.

I then started doing some research and found partselect.com. They had diagrams showing the different parts. I opened the oven, and determined that if it was the problem, it was easy to fix. I then went to the JennAir site and discovered that I could do a live chat with a customer rep who assured me that the newer version of the board would work in my oven. The customer rep was puzzled by the repair person's problem with obtaining the parts.

After looking at new ovens, my wife and I decided that we would take a chance on the $200 part before spending $3000 on a new oven. And so far the results have been good.

So, I guess you should visit the JennAir site and "talk" with a customer rep who might be able to help you trouble shoot your problem.

Oh, and I did order the part from partselect.com -- good price and it came very quickly.
