Default Jenn Air burners do not light right away
Brand: Jenn-Air
Model Number: JDS986oAAP
Age: 5 - 10 years

The stove top burners take approx 20-25 seconds to light, when they do, the gas flow is at a minimum even though the control is set to high. Eventually, the gas flows according to the knob setting. Also, once lit and then turned off, then right back on again, they ignite properly. According to several postings, it sounds like the gas regulator my be at fault.

A) Do you agree?
B) Is this something a handy homeowner can replace without worry?

thank you,

Kent

It does sound like the regulator is at fault.

This is not something that you should do yourself.

This is should be done by a qualified gas technician do to safety issues.
