You should get a reading of 20 ohms or close to that.

What setting do you have the meter on?

There is only one setting on my meter RX1K. When I touch leads to element it pegs all the way to the right side of meter.

You said in another post that you do not get anything when you touch the lead to the spots the wires hook to.

If you are not getting a read with the meter lead there you have a faulty element.

If you have a repair shop close by they will likely check the element for you if you are not sure.

I checked it again and if you put the leads to where the wire hooks up, there is no continuity. I will carry to have it checked out.
