Default Installation of new bake element
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: JBP76
Age: More than 10 years

The bake element on my GE self-cleaning radiant range JBP76 went out last week.
Looked like the beginning of Mission Impossible as the element burned along its way !! Ordered and received the new element quickly but now the "handyman" can't install...can't get the nuts to move at the connection ! Do I need a specific tool ???????? metric ? imperial? HELP...Thanksgiving is a week away !!!!

A socket that fits securely is what you need so there will be no slipping. Socket sets come with both standard and metric sockets so you can choose the correct size. If the nut is already rounded off try vice grips or you can grind the head off with a drimmel type tool but you'll still need to get the remaining screw out to install the new element.
