Default Installation help for electric cooktop
Brand: KitchenAid
Model Number: Kerc507hwh3
Age: 1 - 4 years

Hi:

I have a Kitchenaid range, model # KERC507HWH3. A hard item was accidently dropped onto to the glass top and cracked it. I have searched for a replacement part and they are very expensive, costing over $200. Since they are so expensive, I wanted to try and install the cooktop myself.

Could someone please give me instructions or directions in how to install a replacement cooktop to my electric range?

Also, if someone knows a place that sells replacement appliances at a better price, I would welcome that information very much.

Thank you,

Tony

Here is a link to your range model Kerc507hwh3.

I don't have the service manual for your range but these instructions should be close.

To remove the top open the oven door and remove the screws that hold the top down.

Lift the top and disconnect the ground wire.

Slightly lift up and pull up the cook top and unplug the wires.

Turn the top over and remove elements.

You should replace the gasket that goes around the edge of the glass.

Default Question about help

Hi Sheila:

I appreciate you information you sent to me.

When you say that I should " Replace " the gasket, do you mean put back on the one that is there or do you mean buy a new one?

Thank you very much,

Tony

Tony,
I have the same problem but maybe you can help me with part of it. Where did you find the replacement part for your range.

Thanks
