Red face How to replace oven heating element
Brand: Whirlpool
Model Number: RFE3700
Age: More than 10 years

I set my oven for 350 degrees to bake and it had a hot spot and was sparking, so I turned it off and baked with the brolier element instead. I assume that the bottom heating element is shot.

This range is perfect otherwise--28 years old and I have only replaced a couple of top burners.
Anyone have instructions as to how to replace the oven heating element? Thanks

Default

Unplug the range.

Remove the two screws holding the element in the oven.

Pull out until you see the wires on the end of the element.

Unscrew the wires and pull them through so they do not go back inside.

Install new element in the reverse order.

Can you please verify your model number as I can not locate it in our database.
