Default How to replace cracked Maintop Glass on GE Profile electric stove.
Brand: General Electric
Model Number: JS968SOF4SS
Age: 1 - 4 years

Electric Stove: Ge Profile; model: JS968SOF4SS (this is on stove label).
Problem: Instructions needed to replace cracked Maintop Glass.
Part Cost $488
When I called GE they told me to use model number JS968SFSS (without the O)for ordering:
JS968SFSS - GE Profileā„¢ 30" Slide-In Electric Range - Features And Photos

I am handy but don't want to damage anything by winging it without instructions.
I noticed there are 5 screws under lip where controls are in front but there are also many along the sides. Don't want to buy such an expensive part if I can't do job myself.
Some specific instructions would help.

Can anyone advise? Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Default cracked maintop glass

Hi-
Curious to find out if you were able to repair your stove. We have a crack in ours and I am trying to figure out what to do. Where did you purchase your part? Did you ever get the instructions? Was it difficult?

Many thanks,
smhazen

Although I successfully removed glasstop, I decided to leave it as is since crack was in corner.

Here is full thread:

The instructions were tucked inside of stove (under the glass top!).
