Default How do I replace drip pan?
Brand: Hotpoint
Age: 5 - 10 years

Hi.

I live in an apartment building and I need to replace the drip pans of the Hotpoint stove (guess they're all burnt), worried that I might not get the rental deposit back when I leave the apartment.

How do I replace the drip pans? How do I take the electric coil off and back on?
I don't know the model of this hotpoint stove, I don't see them anywhere.

Thanks for any help!

The model number of the range should be on a tag on the frame of the stove where the drawer closes.

You may not have to replace them, they may just need to be soaked and cleaned.

The elements should just lift and pull out if the stove is not that old.

Thanks for the reply, sheila.

I've looked there as well, it only had the warning sticker. In fact, I looked on the sides of the oven, and the back- top portion only as I can't pull the oven enough to check the lower portion.

The drip pans REALLY need to be replaced. 2 out of 4 are literally burnt. SOme cooking oil must have spilled on the drip pans and there was fire coming out.

Problem is, I don't know how to replace it, I might mess up the electric coil if I'm not able to put that back properly.

Are you element wired in?

If the element just pull out you will not have a problem.

If the range is an older model the model number maybe under the top of the back-splash.
