Default Hot Point Oven doesnt turn on
Brand: Hotpoint
Model Number: RGB526PEA6WH
Age: 1 - 4 years

Top burners work. When I turn the knob to turn on oven/broiler I hear click somewhere in oven but no heat, this is a gas oven. I can turn it over and over past the "click" and nothing happens. Is the ignitor bad or is it something else? Thanks for your help!

Replace the Ignitor, the part # is WB13K21. Have the part house give you the whirlpool replacement. It is a ton cheaper. GE tends to think there parts are made of gold. If the part house plays dumb, get ahold of me, and I will get you that part #. Actually I just ran out to my truck, and here is the whirlpool # 12400035. You will probably have to cut the wires off the old on, and splice it on the new one. The kit I am giving you the # on has wire nuts for you to do that. If you need me you can reach me on my web site, at ApplianceEducator.com Tom

I have another question. When I turn the knob to turn the oven on even though it doesnt fire up I don't smell any gas. Could there be something plugged or is there a safety component that doesnt let gas through unless the ignitor fires?

That is right. You will not smell gas, because the ignitor won't come on properly, the gas valve will not open. Replace the ignitor. Tom www.applioanceeducator.com
