I know I can purchase a new glass top for this stove, but I don't know if I can do the job. Is there a simple wiring harness? What is involved?

Can you please supply the last three digit of your model number?

To remove the top open the oven door and remove the screws that hold the top down.

Lift the top a little and slide it to the left or right to release it from the hinges.

Label the wires and disconnect from the top.
