Default Help in replacing baking element
Brand: White-Westinghouse
Model Number: KF450G
Age: More than 10 years

I have a White-Westinghouse oven - model KF450G. I need help in replacing the bake element ( part number 5303051519) on my oven. I though this will be a very easy project until I disconnected my stove from the outlet.

What type of tools do I need to unscrew the octagon shape screws?

Do I remove the back panel?

Do I need a professional?

Please, please help

You need a small socket maybe 1/4 inch size. With a handle or ratchet wrench that fits into the socket. You can do the entire job reaching inside the oven.

Woodchuck,
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

It only took about 15 minutes to replace the baking element using your simple instructions. A friend told me that a repairman told her it would run her $185 to replace and install a new baking element on her stove. My friend opted buying a new stove.

I brought the replacement part from partselect.com for under $25.00.

PS - I'm 65 year old grandmother
